Hi all,

Swamp Thing 1989 is now finished and it was very satisfying. I managed to snag a beautiful variant cover that I’m very happy with (see the image below). The next titles we might expect to see Swamp Thing appear in include the horror anthology DC’s Quoth the Raven… Whatever, Emperor Aquaman #22, the Swamp Thing: Dark Genesis Omnibus that I mentioned in my previous post and Swamp Thing Is Killing The Children for BOOM! Studios (release date is TBD). We have yet to see Swampy make an appearance in the Absolute Universe, though Abby popped up in an issue of Absolute Green Lantern so something might be coming soon. Also Riccardo Federici has been posting some excellent work-in-progress panels of Swamp Thing for an unrevealed project that looks very exciting.

I’ve also been making some updates throughout the site. I’ve added another entry into the timeline. The timeline attempts to summarise the history of Swamp Thing across all media for those unfamiliar with the character. I also tidied up the Links page to get rid of a bunch of dead links, and also removed links to creator pages that had become difficult to maintain. A couple of extensive Swamp Thing websites have now disappeared from the web so the best bet for regular news updates is probably Reddit.

I’ve also been working through all of the listed appearances and fixing up some credits. I’m now documenting contributors who are credited as inkers and variant cover artists. That has involved a fair amount of work and I’m only about half way through but it’s been something I’ve been meaning to do for a while as some important contributors were missing. In the process, I’m coming across a few more very minor appearances. I’m still mostly omitting appearances that consist only of an image of Swampy in the background (e.g. on a poster), but if Swampy or one of his supporting cast actually appears in the issue for even just a second, I try to mention that somewhere.

Outside of Swamp Thing, other comics I’ve enjoyed recently are Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (an 8 issue limited series by Tom King and Bilquis Evely), and The Power Fantasy on Image comics.
